Harold “Dean” Burton, age 56 of Joelton, Tennessee, died Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at Stonecrest Hospital in Smyrna.
Funeral services will be conducted at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View at 2:00 PM on Sunday, October 10th, with Tony Cobb officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood United Methodist Church Cemetery with Brandon Burton, Arnold Felts, Brian Burnett, Greg Glenn, Jordan Burnett, and Avery Glenn serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the employees of Burnett’s Marathon.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, October 9th from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM and again on Sunday from 1:00 PM until the hour of service at 2:00 PM.
Dean was born on September 6th, 1965 in Portland, Tennessee, to the late Dot Seay and Jimmy Burton. He was a truck driver for many years. He loved visiting all the states, but Texas was his favorite. Most recently, he worked at Burnett’s Marathon, where he loved developing new recipes. He loved grilling, NASCAR races, and racing his go-cart #19. Most importantly, he was a loving husband, great dad, wonderful brother, an awesome friend to many.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Brandi Burton.
Survivors include his wife, MaryAnn Burton; son, Brandon Tyler Burton; daughter, Axel Amadeo; brother, Arnold (Angie) Felts; and sisters, Debbie (Brian) Burnett, and Cyndi (Greg) Glenn; nieces and nephews, Heather (Elliott) Haynes, Lesley (Fadi) Pulous, August (Parker) Duncan, Ashton Glenn, Avery Glenn, Jordan Burnett, Amelia Felts, Ava Felts; and his special furry friend, Molly. He was also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.
