OBITUARY: James ‘Jim’ Douglas Witherow

James “Jim” Douglas Witherow, age 74, of Hendersonville, Tennessee passed away on Friday, February 21, 2025.

Jim was born Thursday, March 23, 1950 in Columbia, Tennessee.

He is preceded in death by his parents James Everette and Sarah Frances Workman Witherow.

Jim was known for his incredible sense of humor, never met a stranger. He was a fan of NFL and the Titans. Jim once told his cousin that he had contacted Bud Adams to see if when he died, if he would provide some Titan players as pallbearers for his funeral. He just wanted them to let him down one more time!

He and Joy enjoyed domestic and international travel.

While in high school he played baseball, basketball and co-captain of the football team; and in college at MTSU, he was a member of KA Fraternity and he played football.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Joy; son, Shane and his wife Lindsie; grandchildren, Carter, Ella, Jack Hudson and grandchild #4 due in May.

A visitation for Jim will be held Thursday, February 27, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1150 South Dickerson Road, Goodlettsville, Tennessee and Friday, February 28, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Madison Campus Seventh-day Adventist Church, 607 Larkin Springs Rd, Nashville, TN 37115 followed by a celebration of life at 1:00 PM https://www.dignitymemorial.com/obituaries/goodlettsville-tn

Burial will follow in the Garden of Meditation at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
