James Arthur West (Jim), age 82, passed away April 21, 2026 at NHC of Hendersonville in Hendersonville, Tennessee.
Born July 3, 1943 in Madison, Tennessee to Chase Lee West and Mildred Binkley West. Jim joined the Army early in life, serving for 4 years in Germany. Following this he worked at Odom Sausage in Madison, Tennessee and later worked at Dixie Wire in Nashville, Tennessee. He quickly learned the processes and worked his way up to foreman before retiring from there to care for his wife who had cancer.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Julia (Judy) Saeger West, father Chase Lee West, mother Mildred Binkley West, sister Shirley Lee West, brother Bob West, son James Arthur West, Jr., step-sons Robert (Booty) Saeger, Shane Saeger and grandson Jeremiah Saeger.
He is survived by sister Edna Sue West Bailiff, son Shane West, and grandchildren Teri Miller, Mickey West, Geoffrey West; 8 great grandchildren, Allie, Austin, Jaylee, Grayson, Isabella, Oliver, Kalliope, Aiden, Luna and Rain; beloved nephew Lee West, beloved nieces Missy West Harris and Dawn West Umphenour.
Visitation will be at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home on Highway 100, Nashville, Tennessee. Visitation will be Thursday, April 30, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Friday, May 1 at 10:00 a.m. Celebration of Life will follow on Friday lead by nephew Lee West and Youth/Family minister Ben Herchenhahn of White House Church of Christ.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to White House Church of Christ in White House, Tennessee.
