Jacqueline-Chatman-Perry

Jacqueline Chatman Perry affectionately known as “Jackie” heard the peaceful whisper of her Heavenly Father Saturday evening, October 15, 2022, beckoning her to leave and take her rest in her new home in Heaven.

Jackie was the second child born to the late George Evans Chatman and Jemima Jenkins Chatman in Nashville Davidson County Tennessee

At a very early age, Jackie was baptized and attended Mount Gilead Missionary Baptist Church in Nashville and she attended faithfully until her health failed. Jackie learned early that her purpose was to be a “true and faithful servant” and her purpose in life was fulfilled through those teachings.

Jackie graduated from Maplewood High School and later attended Nashville Community College to become a certified nursing assistant (CNA). Jackie knew her purpose and hence chose professions that would allow her to further fulfill what she was intended to do.

Before retiring in 2010, Jackie spent a total of 30 years working in both Metropolitan Davidson County Nursing Homes (Knowles Home for the Aged and Bordeaux Hospital) and Cloverbottom Developmental Center, helping those that needed her gentle and compassionate nature to assist them in life.

Jackie loved people and she enjoyed cooking, immensely. When surrounded by friends and family Jackie’s happiness and joy illuminated the room because that was when she was her happiest. Jackie always would say that she was a “true and faithful servant “and she made that statement with the biggest smile on her face.

Jackie’s memory will forever be cherished by her loving and devoted daughter, Tiffany Rochelle Perry, grandson, Damon Franklin, two brothers, James (Vera) Chatman, Jerry (Bobbie) Chatman, one sister Joyce Anne Jones ( Donald), seven very loving and devoted nieces, two nephews, numerous great nieces and nephews and cousins, a devoted cousin, Theresa Shelton, numerous nieces and nephews, several special friends – Mary Babb, Tracey Falls, Debra Anderson, Doris Matthews and Carl Foster and a host of other relatives and friends.
