Georgia Ellen Hightower (Moore), born October 27, 1953; aged 70, peacefully transitioned to eternal life on July 6, 2024, in the comfort of family in her home.
She was born in Nashville, TN, and remained a lifelong resident of the city. Georgia dedicated her career to serving others, working in various capacities at Aladdin Industries for many years, the Metropolitan Davidson County Court House, Centennial Medical Center, and Meharry Medical College, from which she retired.
Known for her unwavering faith, Georgia was a devoted and faithful member of Brooks Memorial United Methodist Church, where she served diligently as an Usher and worship leader until her health declined. Georgia’s love for her family was profound. She cared for everyone within her surroundings. Never meeting a stranger and always willing to lend a hand or shoulder to lean on.
Georgia’s hobbies included decorating, arts and crafts, and gardening. She had a remarkable green thumb, often sharing plants she nurtured with friends and family. Her love for thrift store shopping and outings with friends were a testament to her vibrant spirit and generous nature.
She was preceded in death by her father, Willie Matthew Moore; mother, Johnnie Mai Hunt Moore Easley; brothers, John E. Hunt, Robert Edward Hunt III, Clarence W. Moore; sisters, Bobbie Mae Miller, Colleen Moore Prince, Mary Frances Lee; and her son, Carmack Rawls Hightower II.
She is survived by her daughter, Sabrina Johnson; granddaughter, Eboney Johnson; great-granddaughter, Nevaeh Johnson; brother, Melvin (Sandra) Hunt; sister-in-law Joyce Hunt; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Her life was also enriched by the support and care of devoted friends, including William Wright, Eunice Burt with over 50 years of friendship, Lois Moore, Deborah Martin, Mattie Hendricks. Neighbors, Otelia (Tina) Hesson and family and the Moxley family.
