Gaylen-Lawrence-Greve

Gaylen Lawrence Greve, of Nashville, TN, was born while his father was stationed at Offutt AFB in Nebraska. He lived in many places, including Japan. He passed away on January 16, 2023, at the age of 72.

He leaves behind to mourn, his wife, Vicki; mother-in-law, Velma; brother-in-law, Hollie, who are all from Nashville, TN; sisters, Kathy, Cindy, and Terri who are all from Columbus, OH; 2 nieces and 1 nephew, and all Klingons.

He enjoyed snow sports and summer sports, especially fishing. He would sometimes fish all day, catching nothing. But recently caught two bass at one time, using a worm on one hook and a minnow on the other.

During the Vietnam era, he was an air traffic controller in the Air Force. In the past, he was a Deacon at GFCC in Tucker, GA, a softball player, and later an umpire in Atlanta, GA, where he became President of the Softball Association. In the past, he was also ‘Gandalf the Gray’ in cosplay and grew in his own real beard to go with it.

He became a professional handyman and a HVAC specialist and could figure out a solution for anything.

His wife suspects he was a dog person but let her have felines. He especially loved his 2 adopted senior cats.

He never lost his weird sense of humor, including the last day he tried to stand, saying, “I’ve fallen, and I can’t get up!”

His last word was “Rocketship.” We think this meant he was going up. When you hear the song, “Spirit in the Sky, “ think of Gaylen.

There are no services are planned at this time. https://www.phillipsrobinson.com
