Frances Underwood Robinson Durham, 93, passed away on January 23, 2024.
She was born in Nashville, parents Herbert and Erlene Underwood. Grew up in Nashville and graduated West End High School in 1948.
She is predeceased by her parents, Husbands George T Robinson (1951-1967) and Howard Durham (1986-2002).
Survived by Son Jim Robinson and Daughter Jan Robinson (Nashville), Sister Carolyn Underwood (Portland), Step-daughter Selena (Gary) Judkins (Smyrna) and Step-grandson Luke (Amber) Judkins.
In 1949 she moved to Pickwick, TN to help her parents manage the resort and met and married George (Buster) Robinson and joined his entire family who remained a part of her life forever.
In 1954, she and George returned to Nashville and bought their home where she proudly lived until her passing. After George’s death as a young widow, she became fiercely determined to raise and provide for their children on her own. She worked hard and built a career with Metro Nashville Public Schools, starting as a school secretary at Glencliff Elementary and retiring in 1991 as the Accounting Supervisor for the entire School System.
In 1986, she married Howard Durham. They were a great match and both at a time in their lives where they could finally enjoy life and each other. They traveled for years in their Allegro camper, met many new friends and saw almost every state in the country. When they came home, they enjoyed time keeping Luke as a toddler and sharing his childhood.
As Frances aged her body may have become frail but her mind never did. She remained the sharp, strong woman she’d always been right up until 2 weeks ago.

A gathering of family & friends for Frances will be held Friday, January 26, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 660 Thompson Ln, Nashville, TN 37204.
