Dr. Howard Lee Salyer M.D., 87, peacefully graduated to heaven on October 27, 2022 in Nashville, Tennessee.
Howard was born on May 1, 1935 to Luther and Eva Salyer in Kingsport, TN.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Edna Collier Salyer, and his children and their spouses, Lynn Paul (Jon), Bridgette Hirsch, Michael Salyer (Melissa), Valarie Wolcott, his 12 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and his sister Sandra Burns (Brantley).
Howard was an Army Captain and he practiced dermatology in Nashville for 37 years. He served as the president of the TMA from 1991-1992.
He spent his last years spending time with his family, friends, and crafting wooden crosses in his woodshop. Howard will be greatly missed but he will never be forgotten. He touched so many lives, was loved by all, and his legacy will live on in our hearts.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at two o’clock in the afternoon on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at Stephens Valley Church, 6000 Pasquo Road, Nashville, TN 37221. A visitation will follow the celebration of life at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Stephens Valley Church.
