OBITUARY: Dorothy ‘Dottie’ Jean Reed

Mrs. Dorothy “Dottie” Jean Reed of Nashville, Tennessee passed away on Friday, August 19, 2022, she was 88 years old.

With profound sadness, the Reed, Meyer and Holt families announce the passing of their beloved Dorothy “Dottie” Jean Reed.

Dottie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and committed and loyal friend. She was an avid bowler but also enjoyed the outdoors, hummingbirds, and a good campfire. She was wise, funny, and truly beautiful inside and out, and her laughter could fill a room. She was genuine in all her actions, with a pure heart of gold. Dottie had a way with words; she always knew what to say at the right time. She gave her all to those she loved. What she treasured the most, which all will attest to, was spending time with her loved ones.

Dottie is survived by her husband, Charles “Chuck” Reed; son, Randy Holt (Beth); daughter Lori Meyer (Joey); stepsons, Tony Reed and Bob Reed; grandchildren, Brittany Meyer, Leslie Hughes and Eric Holt; and step-grandchildren, Kelly Coghill, Zach Barber, Austin Reed; her two great-grandchildren, Brie Henry, Chase Holt; and step-great-grandchildren, Ava Coghill, Kendall Coghill, and Noah Coghill.

She was preceded in death by son, Larry Holt.

May her soul Rest In Peace. She may be gone but will remain in our hearts forever.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Special Olympics of Tennessee.

A Celebration of Life service will be on Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at New Hope Community Church, 605 Wilson Pike, Brentwood, TN 37027.
