Dorothy ‘Dot’ Nell Mason, of Nashville, Tennessee passed away on Wednesday, March 29, 2023.
Dot was born in Robertson County, TN on April 10, 1930, to Joseph and Maggie England.
Being born to a family of sharecroppers, Dot moved often during her childhood. This taught her many things at a young age that she carried throughout her life.
She married the love of her life, William L. ‘Bill’ Mason, in 1946. Dot was always a very loving and caring woman. Her most treasured task was taking care of her family and she loved her church, Dalewood Baptist Church. She sang in the choir, worked in the nursery, and helped in many other areas, as well. If the church was open, Dot and her family were there. Spending time with her family was the most important thing to Dot.
In her later years, she became very good with technology. She could keep up with her out-of-state family that way and participate in weekly church services.
Dot is preceded in death by her husband, William L. Mason, and her daughter, Janice Leonard.
She is survived by her daughter, Joan Sparks (Bob); Son-in-law, Frank Leonard; Grandchildren, CW4 Bryan Duhl (Charlotte) and Paige Tucker (Tyson); And great-grandchildren, Bryce Duhl, Lizzy Duhl, Braden Duhl, Mason Tucker, Linley Tucker, and Bennett Tucker.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Dalewood Baptist Church, 1586 McGavock Pike, Nashville, TN 37216, on Tuesday, April 4th at 11:30 am, with visitation one hour preceding the service.
