Dorothy Ann Gower, age 88, of Goodlettsville, passed away Sunday, August 11, 2024 at the home of her daughter in Greenbrier.
Mrs. Gower was born November 29, 1935, in Sumner County, to the late William Layton McMurtry and Ruby Nell Whitaker McMurtry.
She was a homemaker and a member of Waycross Church of Christ.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gower was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Gower; sister, Joyce Marie Draper; and brothers, Gerald Layton McMurtry, and Michael McMurtry.
She is survived by a son, Dale Wallace (Nora) Gower; daughters, Betty Ann Thompson, Lenda Fay (Donny) Gower, Beverly Jean (Andy) Moorefield, and Brenda K (Tim) Gregory; 18 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Roy Lee McMurtry.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 am on Saturday, August 17th in the chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with Bro. Mike Stewart and Pastor David Rawls officiating. Burial will follow in Springfield Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 12-7 pm Friday, August 16th and again from 9 am until time of the service at 10 am Saturday at the funeral home.
