Donald T. Graham, age 82, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2025.
Don was born in Schomburg, Ontario, Canada, on April 11, 1942, to the late Clifton Graham and Wilhelmena Hudgin Graham.
A man whose love for hockey shaped much of his life, Don was contracted with the Detroit Red Wings organization at the young age of fourteen. He moved to the United States to play professional hockey, traveled the country and had a great career which lasted until his late 20’s. His last position as a professional hockey player with the Eastern Hockey League was with the Dixie Flyer’s in Nashville, Tennessee. He played the sport with passion and dedication, achieving much success both on and off the ice. Hockey was more than a game to Don, it was a cornerstone of his youth and a source of joy and camaraderie throughout his life. After traveling with professional teams, Don dedicated his skill to helping the Nashville Youth Hockey program as a coach developing young players and sharing his talent with others. Don successfully navigated a second professional career in sales throughout middle Tennessee with Commercial Roofing Companies until he retired at age 62.
Fishing was more than a hobby for Don, it was a passion he shared with his son Brad. An avid fisherman with countless fishing trips, fishing tournaments and days of “practice” were priceless to him. Don gave his community of angler’s hours and hours of time dedicated to fishing tournaments. One of his favorite charities included creating a college scholarship fund from proceeds generated by the fishing tournament he chaired, a narrative of joy, generosity and humanity.
Don’s greatest joy, however, came from his family. He was married to the love of his life, Lennie May Graham, and together, they created a home full of love, laughter and cherished memories. Joined at the hip, they were a wonderful pair and supported one another in a loving marriage for 60 years. His commitment to his family was unwavering and his role as a father and grandfather brought him immense pride and happiness.
He was preceded in death by his wife lennie may graham.
Don is survived by his son, Brad Robinson (Betty) and grandson, Bradley Robinson, Brothers Doug Graham, (Lorna) Bruce Graham (Pat) and sister, Deb Graham Sister-in-Law, Celine Johnson, and a host of nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and great nephews. He shared great love for each one of his family members.
