The following from Christ the King School. “We have sad news to share. Retired teacher, Miss Diane Auerweck, passed away last night. Miss Auerweck, 71, retired in 2014 after 37 years of love and dedication at Christ the King School (CKS.)
After she retired, she was still an active volunteer for CKS teachers, copying, filing papers, doing whatever was needed to help out. The Pandemic interfered with that, and due to failing health, she was never able to return to CKS. She remained connected though, reaching out when recognizing an alumni’s child in an email newsletter or other publication, just to verify “Is that so-and-so’s child? I knew it!” She knew and loved all of her students, both as a fifth-grade teacher for many years, and then finally our computer teacher. She kept us informed about any sicknesses, deaths, accomplishments of former students, parents, teachers, and so many other things over the years. She will be missed.”
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Anh Tuan Phan on Friday, August 9, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Edward Catholic Church, 188 Thompson Lane. Interment Mount Olivet Cemetery. Friends and former students will serve as Pallbearers. Memorial contributions may be made to Christ the King or St. Edward Catholic Schools.
Visitation on Thursday, August 8, 2024, will be from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. with the Rosary Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. at Woodbine Funeral Home, Hickory Chapel, 5852 Nolensville Road, 615-331-1952. https://www.woodbinefuneralhome.com
