David Ray Smith of Nashville, TN, born April 16, 1947, welcomed home on November 25, 2023.
He is survived by his sons, Clark Smith and Stacey Smith; sister, Connie (Ed) Colley; granddaughters, Amanda (Josh) Dorris, Jamie Smith and Jessica Smith; great-grandchildren, Henley Dorris, Lane Dorris and Sawyer Sandidge.
Preceded in death by loving wife, Nan Pitts Smith; parents, Harris and Nell Smith; brother, James Harris “Jim” Smith; and grandsons, Cody Lee Smith and Nicholas Lee Smith.
David graduated from Glencliff High School in 1965. After graduation, he went to work at Smith Brother’s Car Wash until he retired as owner/operator of two locations in 2022.
He spent many years as a board member of Ezell-Harding Christian School and was a member of Vultee Church of Christ and later Antioch Church of Christ.
He enjoyed Harley rides, trips with friends, telling stories and most of all spending time with family. David was a kind man who is loved by many and will be dearly missed.
Visitation will be Tuesday, November 28, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. and Wednesday, November 29, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. with funeral service to follow, all at Antioch Church of Christ, 2142 Antioch Pike. https://www.woodbinefuneralhome.com
