Claude Andrew Crymes was born on November 28, 1925 to Oscar Dudley Crymes and his wife Alice in Florence, Alabama. He passed from this life on Sunday, May 26, 2024 in Elk River Health and Nursing Center in Ardmore, Tennessee.
Mr. Crymes was preceded in death by his parents, all nine of his siblings and his precious wife of 70 years, Mildred Gailbreath Crymes. The Crymes had no children, but they are survived by 4 generations of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Crymes was a Navy Veteran of World War II and was retired from National Life and Casualty Insurance (as was his wife). The Crymes were long time residents of Nashville and were founding members of the Bellvue Church of Christ.
After his wife’s death, Mr. Crymes became a resident of Hearthside Senior Living in Lebanon. The staff and other residents became extended family members. He battled cancer and heart problems and moved to the facility in Ardmore for only three weeks to receive around the clock nursing care.
Claude Crymes will be missed by all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, but Mr. Crymes will be laid to rest beside his wife in Nashville at Woodlawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hearthside Senior Living, 215 Castle Heights Ave., Lebanon, TN 37087.
