Billy Wayne Zeigler, 83, of Nashville TN, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2024 at Creekside Three Rivers in Murfreesboro, TN.

He was born in Pulaski, TN on December 28, 1940 to the late James Lloyd Zeigler and Lillie Woodard Zeigler.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 61 years Patty Phillips Zeigler and beloved son, Barry Wayne Zeigler.

Billy was a proud Giles County native. Often referred to by him as the land of milk and honey, it was the start of his many tall tales. He always considered Pulaski home but the family moved to Nashville for work. Billy then graduated from Central High School in 1959.

Following graduation, he took his first job at H.G. Hills grocery store where he would meet the love of his life, Patty. They were married on July 16, 1960 at Glen Leven Presbyterian Church. On August 18, 1961 they welcomed their only son, Barry.

Like his father before him, Billy started his career in truck driving. He initially worked for small operations like Dolly Madison Cakes before spending his later years running the overnight haul to Memphis with Federal Express, the latter which he retired from.

Billy and Patty spent many years making a life and home in the south Nashville community they loved so much. Billy and Barry would share a love for country music and hot rods.

Following retirement he spent many happy years traveling to the Great Smoky Mountains and Gulf Shores with family and friends. He enjoyed taking pictures and sharing his albums and memories with anyone that had the time. He was an avid gardener, collector of model cars, grill master, and Nascar lover.

He is survived by his grandchildren Mandy (Jeremy) Bayless of Rockvale, Tennessee, Bobby Zeigler of Nashville, Tennessee, and Lee Zeigler of Brentwood, Tennessee. Also surviving are five great-grandchildren Riley, Addyson, Beckett, Zachary, and Everly, as well as several close friends and cousins.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from nine thirty to eleven thirty on the morning of Friday, April 12, 2024 at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home. A Graveside Service will be held at noon on Friday, April 12, 2024 at Woodlawn Memorial Park. https://www.dignitymemorial.com/obituaries/nashville-tn
