Barbara Jean Hobbs Watson, 72, of Nashville passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2024 at her residence.
A native of Corpus Christi, Texas she was born on February 28, 1952 the daughter of the late Edward and Vera Tibbs Hobbs.
Barbara married Roy A. Watson and spent her adult life as a loving wife, homemaker and mother. She enjoyed bowling and other sports, more specifically baseball and softball and spent many years coaching the sport. She was a loving grandmother and took pleasure in snacking on Peeps candies, Nilla Wafers and black licorice.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband: Roy A. Watson; her brother: Patrick Hobbs; and her sister: Nora Lawson.
Survivors include her son: Roy A. (Candi) Watson, Jr.; siblings: Patricia Andrew; Mary McRae; Michelle Flatt; Betty Jo Banegas; Rosie Nicks; Donna Hobbs; and Cheryl Lynn Hobbs. additional survivors include her grandchildren Allie (Mitchell ) Mullins and Aubrey Watson and great-grandchildren Camden Mullin, Charlotte Mullins, Roy James Mullins and Rosemary Jenkins.
Funeral services will be on Monday, December 2, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. in the Dignity Hall of Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home located at 660 Thompson Lane Nashville, Tennessee 37204. a gathering of friends and family will take place from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour at the funeral home.
