Aveyon (Jim) Clifford Talley found eternal rest on Wednesday, September 18, 2024.
He was born October 14, 1948, to the late Fannie Buford Talley and Samuel Talley. His life was given to Christ at St. Peter AME Church as an infant.
He is preceded in death by sisters; Samulla Talley, Avis Holloman Mullins, and Essie Spann; brother Sam Holloman.
Aveyon was educated in the Davidson County Public School System and graduated from Haynes High School. He had a love for playing the drums and was elated when the opportunity was presented to play with the well renowned Jimmy Hendrix. Later in life, his career entailed operating heavy machinery.
Aveyon’s hobbies were creating a colorful mural on a wall in his home and finding other people throw-aways and making them his treasures. He shared them with anyone who had a need for them. A lot of his items are still in love one’s homes as cherished memories.
In 1968, one would have thought he found gold when his daughter Yavonne (Jormaine) Coleman Sr., (Slidell, Louisiana) was born. Then, five years later when his son, Arna Talley (Hermitage, TN) was born, you could not tell him a thing, he was so elated.
Aveyon united in marriage to Priscilla Batey, March 12, 1986, and remained steadfast until his departure from his earthly life. He enjoyed barbecuing on holidays to bring the families together. He would tell tall jokes and always made sure people enjoyed these events, especially the children.
Aveyon also leaves to cherish six grandchildren, Cordell Parker Jr. Jormaine Coleman Jr., Aaliyah Talley, Cameron Talley, Armani Talley, and Kylan Talley. He leaves a plethora of family and friends that will miss him dearly.
