Annette C. Harris

Annette Cantrell Harris, age 80, of Ridgetop, Tennessee, passed away on January 17, 2022 at NorthCrest Medical Center, after a battle with pneumonia.

She was born on March 6, 1941, in Nashville to the late Leo Alexander and Willie Ina Cantrell. Annette graduated from Goodlettsville High School. She worked for many years as a bookkeeper for various companies until retiring from Terminix. Annette married the love of her life on September 20, 1963 and they were blessed with two children. She was an active member of Ridgetop First Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and enjoyed helping others. It brought her great joy when she did things for others, especially when she cooked for her family and gave gifts during Christmas.

Annette loved Jesus, and could often be heard saying, “Father, you know all about me!” She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing cards, and going to play bingo. She and her husband loved spending time with friends also, fishing at Big Sandy, PJ’s Resort, and KY Lake. Summers were spent at the ballfield where Annette was the official bookkeeper for the Dixie Youth while her husband Wayne would umpire. She was active in the PTO and Girl Scouts, at times substitute teaching when she was able to do so.

In addition to her parents, Annette is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Wayne M. Harris; brothers, Tom Cantrell and Kenneth Cantrell; sisters, Elaine Cantrell and Virginia Roland and treasured friend, Cindy Crawford.

She is survived by her children, Marna Wanette Pennington and Bradley Thomas (Megan) Harris; grandchildren, Angelina (Bacilio) Domingo, Haylee Harris, Shelby Harris, Kiya Harris, Braelyn Harris, Jaxson Harris, and Gunnar Harris; great-granddaughter, Adalynn Elliott; siblings, Cleo (Larry) Wayman and Anthony “Tony” (Lynn) Cantrell and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, January 21, 2022 at 2 pm with Brother Ralph Carter officiating. Entombment will follow in Springfield Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Visitation with the family will be on Thursday, January 20, 2022 from 4-8 pm then again on Friday from 11 am until to time of service.
