Alvin E. “Jim” Milliken, born June 25, 1930, passed away on April 8, 2026, leaving behind a life marked by hard work, devotion to family, and steady faith.

Jim was a proud graduate of Joelton High School and carried the values he learned there throughout his life. He was known as a dependable and dedicated man who approached each day with quiet strength and a strong sense of responsibility. Those who knew him will remember his kind spirit, his musical talent and joking with family, friends, and neighbors alike. He also loved his pet squirrels in the yard.

He retired after 36 years of service as a Cable Splicer with South Central Bell. Through decades of faithful work, Jim built a reputation for reliability and professionalism. His long career reflected his commitment to doing his job well and serving others with integrity. He took pride in his work and in the relationships he formed along the way.

Jim was also a faithful member of First Baptist Church Joelton. His church family was an important part of his life, and his faith remained a source of comfort and guidance through the years. He was likewise a longtime member of the Senior Renaissance Center at Cohn High School, where he enjoyed fellowship and connection with others in the community.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, two sisters, and his wife, Mildred Milliken. Their memories remained close to his heart throughout his life, and he carried their love with him always.

Jim is survived by his sons, Gary Milliken and his wife Marsha, and Danny Milliken; his granddaughter, Kristy Milliken; his step-grandson, Dudley Bumpus; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will take place at Anderson & Garrett Funeral Home on Monday, April 13th from 9am until the time of Service at 12pm with Bro. David Royalty officiating. https://www.andersonandgarrett.com
