Bobby Lee White, age 87, of Joelton, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2026. He was born on September 9, 1938 to Otis and Mary Lee White.
Bobby proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1959 to 1962. Following his military service, he dedicated 35 years to the Metro Nashville Fire Department (where he was affectionately known as Stoney or Wrinks), and rose to the rank of Captain before retiring. His commitment to serving others and protecting his community was a source of great pride throughout his life.
A man of simple pleasures, Bobby loved spending time outdoors fishing and hunting. He was known for his familiar and comforting presence—often seen wearing his signature plaid shirt, white t-shirt, jeans, and Bass Pro hat. Bobby was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Joelton. He will be remembered for his steady nature, strong work ethic, and deep love for his family.
Bobby was preceded in death by his first wife of 51 years, Evelyn Brooks White, and his second wife of 11 years, Patsy Nelson; as well as his siblings Jimmy White, Charles White, Carlos White, Pete White, and Helen Smiley.
He is survived by his loving children, Gary White (Melissa), Tina Melton (Roger), and Joy Henderson (Wil); twelve grandchildren; and twenty-six great-grandchildren, all of whom will carry forward his legacy and memory.
