Alfred Joe (Red) Haislip was born July 24, 1936, in Lewisburg, Marshall County, TN, and spent most of his life in Nashville, Davidson County, TN, and passed away on February 20, 2025, in Brentwood, Williamson County, TN.
He leaves behind his son, Ronnie (Jeanette) Haislip, daughter, Renee (Dale) Black, grandson, Jordan (Crystal) Haislip, great-grandson, Hallston Haislip, and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Jessie Mae Simmons Haislip, father, Samuel Floyd Haislip, wife, Melba Sue Sheffield Haislip and siblings, Kathleen (Bill) Beatty, Everage (Brownie) Haislip, Kenneth (Marie) Haislip, Alton (Reba) Haislip, and Judith (Steve) Eberts.
Alfred was a member of the Church of Christ. He served 8 years in the U.S. Naval Reserve, July 1954 through July 1962. Alfred founded Nolensville Road Auto Mart in 1963 in Nashville. His son, Ronnie Haislip, took over when Alfred retired and his grandson, Jordan Haislip, currently runs the family business. He loved cars, traveling, and his farm in Lewisburg, TN.

The visitation, funeral, and burial will be held at Woodlawn Funeral Home and Cemetery, 660 Thompson Ln, Nashville, TN. Visitation is scheduled for February 25, 2025, at 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM.
