Alexander Fuller

Alex was the sixth of 10 children who was born on April 25, 1940 to the late George Fuller and Annie Mae Fletcher-Fuller.

He departed this life on Fri. July 30, 2021 at the age of 81 while at Skyline Tri-Star Hospital in Nashville TN after a brief illness.

Alex was born in Columbia TN and attended school in the Limestone County Public School system in Athens, AL. He moved to Nashville TN in the early 1960s and was employed with Nashville Bridge as a first-class welder. Later in life, Alexander was self-employed as a plumber.

He was married to Laura Parker-Fuller in the 1960s who preceded him in death along with six of his siblings: Robert Fuller, Douglas Fuller, Rose Nelle Collier (Eldridge), George Fuller, Jr. (Nancy), Ethel May (aka Moosie), and Annie Ruth Lindsay, along with brother-in-law Roy Parker. In his latter years, Alex thoroughly enjoyed relaxing and having great meals while spending quality time with family. He also enjoyed listening to music (of which he loved The Platters), watching WWE (wrestling matches) with his sister (Elease Hannah-Lawrence) and nephew Melvin Hannah. He also enjoyed the large family gatherings, watching game shows, seeing a good western, and/or watching movies.

He leaves to cherish his memory 10 children: James, John, Lisa, Michael, Dorothy, Maxine, Alexander, Andrew, Rita, and LaCinda; two sisters: Elease Hannah Lawrence (Madison, TN), Fannie Parker (Clarksville, TN); one brother: Edward Fuller (aka Frog); and one sister-in-law: Betty Fuller. He also leaves to cherish his memory 10 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, devoted nieces: Pam Gordon (aka Pammie/PL), Mona L. Tate, & Kimmie A. Hannah; devoted nephew/guardian: Melvin L. A. Hannah, great-nephew: Chris Tate, and caregivers: Carmen Tate (great-niece) and Sandra D. Carter. In addition, Alexander leaves a host of nieces, nephews, many other relatives, and friends.

The Fuller/Hannah family is appreciative to son, John Fuller; daughter, Lisa Fuller and Alex’s sister-in-law: Betty Fuller & family for also providing caregiving to Alex. A special thank you goes out to Kimmie, Pammie, Melvin, Mona, and Carmen for making Uncle Alex’s last four years as fun, loving, and comfortable as possible by providing love and support. These individuals went over and above the call of duty in taking care of their uncle (i.e….living space, daily meals, day-to-day personal hygiene, and care, follow up with appointments, fun trips, etc..). Uncle Alex truly felt and knew he was loved!! Also, a special thank you to nephew, Marvin Fuller for traveling from St. Paul MN to come and check on his Uncle Alex while also visiting with other family members as well.

Visitation Thursday, August 5, 2021, 4-5:00 p.m. with funeral to follow at funeral home.
