Nashville Police Looking for Suspect Who Violently Assaulted Mapco Employee

South Precinct Detectives are working to identify a man who violently assaulted an employee at the Mapco gas station at 2601 Murfreesboro Pike on July 24. The suspect (seen in attached surveillance photos) was yelling at customers in the parking lot before he entered the store and threatened the clerk behind the counter.

The employee asked the man to leave. He proceeded to walk behind the counter, grab the scanning tool near the register and hit her in the head with it. When he began walking toward the front door, the clerk followed with the intent to lock it upon his exit.

The suspect then began taking items off the shelves and throwing them at the employee. He punched the woman several times in the head.

He appears to have left the gas station in a Nissan Quest van (seen in attached photos) with front end damage.

The employee was transported to Southern Hills Hospital where she was treated for a broken nose and released.

Anyone with information on the suspect or vehicle is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463.
