A Nashville man on parole after receiving a nine-year sentence in 2018 for a felony heroin conviction has been arrested for continuing to engage in the illegal drug trade.
Detectives from the Specialized Investigations Division’s Neighborhood Safety Unit, which works to identify persons dealing in dangerous narcotics that result in overdoses, apprehended Lamont D. Harris, 34, on Thursday. The months long investigation, with the assistance of the TBI’s Middle Tennessee Drug Related Death Task Force, led to the execution of a search warrant at Harris’ 5017 Packard Drive residence. Found were 1.5 pounds of meth and 42 grams of crack cocaine, both of which tested positive for fentanyl, nine Lortab pills, $8,469 cash, and a loaded pistol. The gun was reported stolen in Maury County.
Harris is jailed in lieu of $215,000 bond on multiple felony drug and gun charges. The state is expected to soon file a parole violation warrant against him.
