September 26, 2022 – TITANS Unit detectives tonight arrested Keno Lane, 30, on a grand jury indictment charging him with multiple counts of first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, and especially aggravated burglary for last November’s gunfire inside 2815-B Torbett Street that left six members of the same family shot, two of them fatally.

Lane was taken into custody this evening just after he exited a residence on Kirkpatrick Street.

Brothers Zacquez Sherrell, 18, and Tavarius Sherrell, 15, were killed on the night of November 26, 2021. Wounded were their 40-year-old mother, two of their sisters, ages 16 and 20, and their 13-year-old brother.

Also killed that night was Christian Akail Johnson, 29, who the investigation shows was Lane’s accomplice. According to the victims, Johnson and another individual, alleged to have been Lane, entered the residence armed. Robbery is the suspected motive.

A Criminal Court judge has ordered that Lane be held without bond.

Homicide Unit Detective Myriah Iles led this investigation.
