Specialized Investigations detectives are investigating a potential drug motive concerning Monday’s 2 a.m. gunfire at a Wallace Road apartment complex that left a man in critical condition and two other persons with non-life threatening injuries.
A 44-year-old woman told detectives she had been to the apartment on Wallace Road multiple times throughout the night, which she frequents to buy marijuana, and was with a group of people inside prior to the shooting. She was shot in the stairwell upon exiting the building, but said she did not see the shooter.
She fled to a nearby gas station on Nolensville Pike and was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
The 31-year-old man in critical condition was found near the doorway of the apartment with a gunshot wound to his face. He was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
A third victim was struck in the back and was transported by private vehicle to the hospital.
The investigation is ongoing.
