Homicide Unit detectives has charged Adrian Mosley, 25, with evidence tampering and providing false information in regard to the continuing investigation into the fatal shooting of a 21-year-old man at Nashwood Park Apartments on North Dupont Avenue on May 11, 2023.

The investigation to this point shows that Mosley shot the man, who has not been identified yet, at approximately 1 a.m. during a dispute outside the apartment where Mosley lives. Mosley initially denied going outside with a gun and maintained that there were no firearms in the apartment.

After detectives found part of an AR style rifle, a 30 round nine-millimeter magazine, and a nine-millimeter drum magazine in the apartment, Mosley then admitted to shooting the victim. He said he tossed the other part of the rifle and a pistol into a wooded area before police arrived, although officers did not find them after an extensive search.

It appears that Mosley confronted the homicide victim, an alleged Peeping Tom, who, according to residents of another apartment, had been peering into windows.

A pistol was found near the deceased. Mosley maintains that he fired after man began shooting at him. Detectives are continuing in their efforts to determine whether Mosley’s self-defense claim is valid.
