A High Road Academy alternative charter school student, Omarian Pickett, 18, is charged with making threats against the school after he refused to surrender his cell phone this morning to school personnel. School policy prohibits High Road Academy students from possessing cell phones. MORE CRIME
According to witnesses, Pickett threatened acts of violence against the school. Police were called and he was taken into custody. Pickett is charged with making threats of violence against a school and false reporting of a threat.
Pickett was arrested on January 5th for an October incident in which he called the school and made threats after he was sent home earlier in the day for causing a disturbance and threatening teachers. He remains jailed on $10,000 bond.
