January 5, 2023 – Homicide detectives are investigating Wednesday’s 7:15 p.m. fatal shooting of Eric D. Baker, 19, in a parking lot at Madison Park, 510 N Dupont Avenue.
Baker was found in the driver’s seat of his Nissan Sentra. A handgun was recovered on the floorboard. Baker died at the scene. The motive for this fatal shooting remains under investigation.
Detectives found multiple shell casings in the parking lot, however, on New Year’s Eve officers responded to several reports of shots fired at the same location and the casings are most likely from those incidents.
