January 5, 2023 – This morning’s shooting at 16th Avenue North and Broadway involving persons in two cars is related to an earlier argument at a Demonbreun Street bar.
A 22-year-old woman suffered a non-life-threatening wound to her upper back in the 1:20 a.m. incident.
The investigation shows that the victim and a female friend got into an argument with a man inside the bar. The argument continued outside. When the women drove away, the man followed in his vehicle. While at the intersection of 16th Avenue South and Broadway, the man reportedly rolled his window down, shouted at the women, and fired a shot. The other woman flagged down a passing officer.
Violent Crimes Division detectives are working to confirm the identity of the shooter.
