17-Year-Old Arrest--Stolen Gun

Detectives assigned to the TITANS (The Investigative Team Investigating Neighborhood Shootings) Unit on Tuesday arrested a Nashville 17-year-old after seeing him walking in the area of County Hospital Road and Panorama Drive with a pistol in his waistband. The teen ran as detectives approached him and tossed the gun. He was quickly apprehended and the Glock semi-automatic pistol was recovered. A check of the gun’s serial number showed that it was stolen during a February 17 burglary of a pickup truck parked outside an 11th Avenue North apartment building.

The 17-year-old was charged at juvenile detention with evading arrest, theft of the gun, and unlawful gun possession.

The 17-year-old has been charged with more than 40 offenses since 2016, including six gun possession charges. He remains under investigation in regard to other crimes.

This same individual was one of the four teenagers who escaped from the Davidson County Juvenile Detention Center on the night of November 30, 2019. They were all apprehended by the MNPD over the ensuing days.
