November 9, 2023 – The pedestrian struck and killed in a hit and run crash on Wednesday at 6:20 p.m. in the 2700 block of Dickerson Pike is identified as Jeffrey Tidwell, 45, of Nashville.
The preliminary investigation shows that a vehicle was traveling north on Dickerson Pike when Tidwell was struck while crossing the roadway. He was thrown into the southbound lanes. The vehicle fled the scene. Tidwell was struck a second time by a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction. That driver returned to the scene.
While investigators were processing the scene, information was received that the hit and run driver’s vehicle was possibly parked on Oak Valley Drive. Patrol officers responded and located a Nissan Altima with damage consistent to striking a pedestrian. Officers were not able to locate the driver. The Altima was taken to the MNPD crime lab for processing. The registered owner of the Altima, Latoya Boswell, 43, is being sought for questioning.
