(May 27, 2022) A woman has died following a crash with a semi-truck on I-40 West near mile marker 195.8 early Friday morning.
Lauren D. Searles, 30, was driving her Hyundai Elantra when, for an unknown reason, she crashed into the back of a tractor-trailer that was stopped on the right shoulder just past Highway 70 South.
Searles was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the semi was not injured. There were no signs of impairment at the scene.
