February 20, 2024 – A woman arrested this morning at an Oak Grove, Kentucky, motel on a Nashville probation violation warrant is now charged with Wednesday night’s murder of Steven Yates, 34, outside a candle company at 2910 Old Franklin Road where Yates was employed. The criminal homicide warrant naming Nicole Tishma, 37, was issued this evening. She remains jailed in Kentucky pending extradition proceedings.
The continuing investigation, led by Homicide Unit Detective Joseph Gawlowski, shows that Yates was targeted for a drug-related robbery and fatally shot.
Tishma was developed as a suspect on Thursday. It was determined that she fled to Oak Grove, where she was arrested this morning with assistance from Kentucky authorities.
