(June 25, 2022) Update: The victim, in this case, has been positively identified as Jami Jamar Bell, 23, of Nashville. The investigation is continuing.
Homicide Unit detectives are pursuing active leads as they work to identify the man who fatally shot a fellow passenger on board a Greyhound bus at midnight just after it pulled into the Nashville terminal.
Witnesses reported that the bus had come to a stop and the driver was making announcements when a shot was heard. The gunman then yelled for people to get out of the way as he ran down the aisle and off the bus. He continued to flee on foot toward Division Street. Witnesses did not hear any arguing prior to the gunshot.
The victim possessed a bus ticket indicating he boarded in Montgomery, Alabama. His identity has not yet been confirmed.
