Two Killed During ATF Enforcement Operation in Nashville

Two people were killed during a federal firearms enforcement operation in Nashville on Wednesday, according to authorities.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) said agents were conducting an enforcement action related to federal firearms law violations when they came under fire. The agency said the scene is secure and there is no danger to the public.

According to MNPD spokesperson Don Aaron, one person fired at an ATF agent, who returned fire, killing the suspect. Aaron said a second person later pointed a gun at another agent and was also shot and killed by law enforcement.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is leading the investigation into the officer-involved shooting. No additional information has been released.
