February 18, 2025 – Two 12-year-old male Madison Middle School students are charged in Juvenile Court with threatening mass violence and making a false report after they both made statements about “shooting up” the school in a social media group.
Other students in the group reported that one of the 12-year-olds was shown with several guns, including what appeared to be an AK-47. Officers located a toy AK-47 that resembled a real gun in that student’s bedroom. Also found in his home were multiple unsecured guns. Further education is being conducted with his parents.
Threats against schools, special events and businesses are taken very seriously by the MNPD. Those responsible, once identified, will be prosecuted.
