Judge Martha Craig Daughtrey has donated 460 books from her personal library to serve as the foundation of the Votes for Women Book Collection. To celebrate this historic donation, she will be speaking to the public and members of Lawyers’ Association for Women (LAW) on Tuesday, May 17 at the Nashville Public Library.

The incredible collection ranges from feminist publications from the 1970s to contemporary biographies and studies on women’s history. A highlight of the donation is volumes I-IV of the “History of Woman Suffrage” (1881–1902), where each volume was signed by Susan B. Anthony in 1904.

The event, presented by the Votes for Women Speakers Series provided by the Sandra Schatten Foundation, will feature an in-depth interview with Judge Daughtrey, an overview of the collection, and an audience-led Q&A session, moderated by Chancellor Anne Martin. The event will begin at 11:30 a.m. in the Nashville Public Library’s main auditorium.
