December 17, 2022 – Three men face multiple charges including attempted criminal homicide and aggravated robbery for their involvement in Friday’s 1:30 p.m. shooting in the parking lot of Captain D’s, 3708 Gallatin Pike, that seriously injured a man after he reportedly arranged to meet them there to trade firearms.

The victim entered the back seat of an older model white Dodge sedan when a passenger attempted to grab his gun. He then grabbed a bag containing his other firearms and attempted to run away but was struck by gunfire. He was transported to Skyline Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

The suspects fled in the Dodge. Officers spotted the car about 20 minutes later near Revels Drive. The driver, Marcus Holt, 23, refused to stop after officers activated their emergency equipment. A police helicopter pilot followed the car, giving the location to ground units below. Officers successfully deployed spike strips. The Dodge continued onto I-65 North where just before the Dickerson Pike exit, the car pulled off onto the shoulder and Holt fled on foot. Two passengers, Marek Winters and Tyquez Hawkins, both 18, fled on foot in the opposite direction. All three were taken into custody with assistance from THP troopers.

Recovered from the Dodge sedan were four firearms, one of which had been reported stolen during a robbery, and 167 grams of marijuana.

In addition to attempted homicide and aggravated robbery, Holt, Hawkins, and Winters are also each charged with gun possession during the commission of a felony, felony marijuana possession, reckless endangerment and evading arrest. Bond for Holt is set at $343,000. Winters and Hawkins are being held in lieu of $337,000 bond. Their photos are being withheld pending lineups in other cases.
