The Hermitage to Celebrate Andrew Jackson’s 257th Birthday on Friday

Andrew Jackson’s Hermitage, the 1,120-acre National Historic Landmark and home of the nation’s seventh president, will host its annual celebration of Andrew Jackson’s birthday on March 15, 2024, with special events and activities, plus Grounds Passes available at half price. Marking the 257th birthday of the nation’s seventh president, The Hermitage will host events from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m., highlighted by a memorial wreath-laying ceremony at Jackson’s tomb, with keynote remarks from Andrew Jackson Foundation president & CEO, Howard J. Kittell.

Birthday celebration events and activities include:

Gallery Talks – Andrew Jackson Center 10 a.m., 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. featuring historic interpreters.
Children’s Activities 10 a.m.-3 p.m. – Face painting, balloon twisting, old-fashioned cricket games
Shop & Learn 2 p.m.-5 p.m. – Featuring Creative BS (leather and bead jewelry) and Sunshine Weaving & Fiber Arts.
Wreath-laying ceremony 11 a.m. – Retiring Andrew Jackson Foundation president & CEO Howard J. Kittell will make his last public address in his official role with a keynote address at Jackson’s tomb.
