March 7, 2024 – MNPD detectives arrested Jakari Pirtle, 16, on a charge of criminal homicide for the February 25 fatal shooting of Emanuel Scott, 22, at Charter Village Apartments on Rio Vista Drive in Madison.
Pirtle was taken into custody Thursday afternoon after detectives jammed his vehicle at the intersection of 11th Avenue North at Jo Johnston Avenue. Two guns were recovered from the car.
Scott and Pirtle both lived at the apartment complex. The investigation shows that Scott was fatally wounded during an apparent robbery.
The investigation is continuing regarding potential other suspects.
