November 19, 2025 – A 28-year-old man is jailed today on $125,000 bond following Saturday afternoon’s shooting on Fain Street at Fairfield Avenue that injured a 40-year-old man.
The 40-year-old was seen on surveillance footage punching another man as a group was gathered near Fairfield Avenue. As the 40-year-old begins walking on Fain Street, it appears shots were fired in his direction.
He was driven by private vehicle to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where a gunshot wound through his left leg also entered his right leg, shattering his femur.
Leon Howard III was identified in a photo lineup as the suspect responsible.
Howard was arrested Tuesday afternoon by TITANS Unit detectives on Trinity Lane. He was charged with attempted homicide and weapon possession.
