The 33-year tradition of “Shakespeare in the Park” will return to the Yard at oneC1TY this summer. The Festival will open on August 12 and run for 5 weeks in Nashville and 1 week in Franklin, and include two productions by two great playwrights. August Wilson’s JITNEY, directed by Chuck Smith, from the Goodman Theater in Chicago will play the first two weeks in collaboration with Kennie Playhouse Theatre, followed by 12th NIGHT by William Shakespeare, directed by Jim Warren, founding Artistic Director of the American Shakespeare Center. This family-(and dog)-friendly Nashville tradition includes a nightly pre-show concert series, “Insight” scholar-led discussions, NSF Apprentice Company performances, food trucks, and more!

Nashville Shakespeare Festival partners with Kennie Playhouse Theatre to bring you August Wilson’s JITNEY and Shakespeare’s 12th NIGHT, live on the outdoor stage at oneC1TY, Nashville.
