South Carolina Man Faces Charges After Bar Employee Stabbed in Nashville

September 23, 2023 – A South Carolina man is charged with two counts of aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and domestic assault after he allegedly stabbed an employee during an altercation at Music City Bar & Grill, 2416 Music Valley Drive, that also involved his girlfriend.

According to witnesses, Cassey Cordell, 33, was arguing with his girlfriend and patrons outside the bar. The employee went outside and told Cordell to leave the premises. Cordell physically attacked him. The employee was able to free himself with help from other patrons. Cordell was told to leave and not return.

A short time later, Cordell walked into the bar and began dragging his girlfriend out of the establishment. When the employee again intervened, a witness reported that Cordell pulled out a knife and stabbed him in the back. The victim was transported to Skyline Medical Center for treatment.

Patrons subdued Cordell and managed to gain control of the knife. Cordell is being held in lieu of $80,000 bond.
