March 8, 2024 – Specialized Investigations Division detectives Thursday night arrested a second teen for the February 25 fatal shooting of Emanuel Scott, 21, at Charter Village Apartments on Rio Vista Drive in Madison.
Raymond Alexander Harris, 16, who lives at Charter Village, was located at N. 5th Street and Vernon Winfrey Avenue. He was taken into custody without incident and is now being held at juvenile detention on a charge of criminal homicide.
On Wednesday, Jakari Pirtle, 15, who also lives at Charter Village, was taken into custody after detectives jammed his vehicle at the intersection of 11th Avenue North at Jo Johnston Avenue. He is also charged with criminal homicide and is being held at juvenile detention.
The investigation, being led by Homicide Unit Detective Jeff Jobe, shows that Scott was fatally shot during an attempted robbery. A third suspect has not yet been identified.
