Public’s Assistance Sought in Identifying Hit and Run Driver Involved in Fatal Crash

February 18, 2022 – Investigators are working to identify the hit and run driver responsible for Thursday’s 7:40 p.m. fatal collision on Dickerson Pike near Old Trinity Lane that claimed the life of an unidentified adult male pedestrian. The Medical Examiner is working to identify him.

The preliminary investigation shows that the pedestrian was crossing Dickerson Pike when a southbound motorist saw him and stopped in the number one lane to let him cross. When he walked into the number two lane, he was struck by a southbound black four door sedan. The driver fled. Two more vehicles then struck the man. Both of those drivers stopped.

The pedestrian died at the scene. He did not have any identification. He had short dark hair and was wearing dark clothing.

This fatal crash occurred outside of a crosswalk. The nearest crosswalk was at the intersection of Dickerson Pike and Trinity Lane, approximately 270 feet away.
