A pedestrian has died following Wednesday’s 10 p.m. crash on Smith Springs Road near Castlegate Drive.
The preliminary investigation indicates Perry Reed, 24, was walking westbound on the right side of the road when a Nissan Altima struck him.
The driver of the Nissan stated she did not see Reed. She remained on scene and showed no signs of impairment.
Reed was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he died. Toxicology testing will be conducted by the Medical Examiner’s Office to determine if impairment was a factor in this fatal crash.
