Over 40 Pounds of Drugs Located at Nashville International Airport

February 29, 2024 – Over forty pounds of drugs were located at Nashville International Airport on Wednesday, WSMV reports.

Nashville Airport Police officers were alerted to four suitcases with the help of their narcotics K9, Peggy. The luggage had arrived from Los Angeles on a Southwest Airlines flight.

The officers monitored the luggage and watched as three people received suitcases with drugs inside at the baggage claim carousel.

Police identified the individuals through photo identification as 37-year-old Alvin Moss, 27-year-old Toshel Hughes, and 30-year-old Ebony Collins. A fourth person was also identified but it was later confirmed that his bag did not contain any narcotics.

According to Nashville Airport Police, roughly 10 pounds of marijuana in vacuum-sealed bags was found in Moss’s luggage, approximately 20 pounds of marijuana was found in Collin’s luggage, and the luggage claimed by Hughes contained 18 pounds of marijuana. Hughes’s purse also contained a small amount of marijuana.

Moss, Collins, and Hughes have been charged with drug possession with the intent to distribute.
