Walker Huey passed away peacefully at home after a brief illness on Friday, December 2nd, 2022.

Predeceased by his parents, William H. and Beda W. Huey, he is survived by his wife, Betty Hood Huey; daughter, Jennifer Morrison (Jim); granddaughters, Lark and Liliana Morrison; and several nephews.

He served in the U.S. Army as Military Police for three years and extended his service during the Berlin Crisis. He received commendations as both a marksman and sharpshooter.

Walker was a member of Crievewood United Methodist Church for more than 56 years, served as president of the Men’s Club, and was a long standing member of the Fellowship Forum Sunday School Class. Psalm 91 reflected his enduring faithfulness.

Walker enjoyed a lifelong interest and had an expertise in restoring vintage cars. For many years he worked for R.H. Chilton Automotive and later owned Huey’s Automotive and Fleet.

Following his retirement in 2008, Walker liked being outdoors hard at work, antiquing, bluebird watching, and especially family time at their lake house. He was a cherished husband, father, and grandfather.

A Celebration of Life is planned for Thursday, December 15th at Crievewood United Methodist Church, 451 Hogan Road at 2 p.m. with visitation from 12:30 to 2 p.m. A private graveside service will be held.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Crievewood United Methodist Church.
